Top defenseman Kimmo Timonen most likely will miss the remainder of the playoffs with a blood clot. (AP)
Man Down
If going up against the Pittsburgh Penguins and All-Stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin wasn't tough enough already, the Flyers likely will have to play the Eastern Conference Finals without a key component of their defense. Kimmo Timonen, the nine-season NHL veteran, likely will miss the rest of the playoffs with a blood clot in his left ankle. Timonen said the blood clot formed after he was hit with a shot during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals series against Montreal. When the soreness did not dissipate, Timonen had the ankle checked out, and a blood clot was found. Timonen had six assists during the playoffs.
